About Caffeine

Caffeine is a stimulant drug. It is a xanthine alkaloid chemical that acts as a psychoactive stimulant and also a mild diuretic (at doses greater than 300 milligrams - see Relative content: comparison of distinct sources)[2] in humans. The term comes from the French term for coffee, café. [3] Caffeine is also referred to as guaranine when discovered in guarana, mateine when discovered in partner, and theine when found in teaall these titles are synonyms for the exact same chemical compound.

Caffeine is found in varying quantities in the legumes, leaves, and fruit of over 60 plants, where it acts as a natural pesticide that paralyzes and kills certain insects feeding on plants. It is most commonly consumed by humans in infusions extracted from the beans of the coffee plant and the leaves of the tea tree, as well as from different foods and drinks containing products based on the kola nut or by cacao. Other sources include yerba mate, guarana berries, and the Yaupon Holly.

In humans, caffeine is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant, with the consequence of temporarily warding off nausea and restoring endurance. Beverages containing caffeine, such as coffee, tea, soft drinks and energy drinks enjoy great popularity; caffeine is the world's most widely consumed psychoactive substance, however unlike most other psychoactive substances, it's legal and unregulated in nearly all jurisdictions. In North America, 90% of adults have caffeine every day. [4] The U.S. Food and Drug Administration lists caffeine as a"Multiple Target Generally Recognized as Safe Food Substance"....

It depends on what you mean as"medication", yes caffeine is a harmful substance. It falls under the stimulant class just like nicotine, cocaine and meth.

However, the effects aren't as dangerous as nicotine or cocaine perse.

Alot of people seems to get used to the term"medication" as an abusive, harmful, addictive substances. Drugs generally resembles any other things, some are horrible a few are helpful if used responsibly (no I am not speaking about medication medicines). Moderation is the key (remember just like anything else)

You will find alot of recreational substances that are even much less much dangerous as caffeine, Marijuana and Psilocybin is one of the example. It is phsycally impossible to overdose on these materials. There is no evidence of death caused by Marijuana or Psilocybin. But that is not a reason to misuse it irresponsibly, it is extremely easy for individuals to act irresponsible under the effect of those substance.

As long as you're being responsible and aware of yourself, even when you're on cocaine or meth (not that I recommend) perse. You're fine, understand your dose and don't become determined by them. If you understand you can not be irresponsible and you understand that you are likely to get hooked, do not use them. That is for me is the definition of being responsible.

As I mentioned before, moderation is the key. Even sugar can be as harmful as heroin if utilized with no moderation.
